The 80s Forum Star of Today is...Only Fools and Horses
Only Fools and Horses is a British television sitcom, created and written by John Sullivan, and made and broadcast by the BBC. Seven series were originally broadcast in the UK between 1981 and 1991, with sporadic Christmas specials until 2003.
After a relatively slow start the show went on to achieve consistently high ratings, and the 1996 episode "Time On Our Hands" holds the record for the highest UK audience for a sitcom episode.
Set in the inner city London district of Peckham, it starred David Jason as ambitious market trader Derek "Del Boy" Trotter, Nicholas Lyndhurst as his younger brother Rodney, and Lennard Pearce as their aging grandfather (later replaced by Buster Merryfield as their Uncle Albert). Backed by a strong supporting cast, it chronicled their highs and lows in life, particularly their attempts to get rich.

It was (and still is) very slow in building up, first I didn't know what to write, who to write about and how to attract members, there were only two members here when J arrived, myself and Joe. I instantly set about asking if they wanted to help and become Mods, Joe sadly didn't want the responsibility and said no, Janet said yes and therefore got the position. The only Mod on the forum...for now.

John Franklin Candy (October 31, 1950 – March 4, 1994) was a Canadian comedian and actor. He rose to fame as a member of the Toronto, Canada branch of The Second City, often playing lovable losers and characters with bad luck but big hearts. While his film roles were mostly comedic, he had dramatic roles in movies such as Only the Lonely and JFK.

Deborah Ann "Debbie" Gibson (born August 31, 1970), is an American singer-songwriter who was a teen pop icon.
She was popular in the late 1980s and the early 1990s. Her popularity with her dedicated fanbase remains today.
At age seventeen (and ten months), Gibson was the youngest person to write, produce, and perform a Billboard Hot 100 1 hit single (in the U.S.) with her song "Foolish Beat".

Toyah Ann Willcox (born May 18, 1958 in Kings Heath, Birmingham) is an English actress and singer
Toyah Willcox trained as an actress at the Old Rep Drama School in her home town of Birmingham and first became well-known during the punk rock era, her appearances in Derek Jarman's 1977 film Jubilee and 1979's Who album-inspired Quadrophenia, launching her as a provocative and anti-establishment figure, an image she eventually threw off.
Her singing career took off shortly afterwards, with hits such as "I Want To Be Free" and "It's A Mystery". In 1983, she was voted Best Female Singer at the British Rock and Pop Awards since restyled as The Brit Awards, or "Brits" ? and in 1986 she married avant-garde musician, Robert Fripp.

Michael Joseph Jackson (born August 29,
1958) is an American musician and entertainer whose successful music career and
controversial personal life have been at the forefront of pop culture for the
last quarter-century.
Jackson began his musical career at the
age of seven as the lead singer of The Jackson 5 and made his first solo
recordings in 1971 while remaining a member of the group.
He began a full-fledged solo career in
1979 and formally parted with his siblings in 1984. In his solo career, Jackson
recorded and co-produced the best-selling album of all time Thriller, with
worldwide sales over 51 million; received thirteen Grammy awards; and charted
thirteen number-one singles in the U.S. Throughout his four-decade career,
Michael Jackson has been awarded numerous honors, including the World Music
Award's Best-selling pop male artist of the Millennium, and he is a
double-inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (once as a member of The
Jackson 5 in 1997, and again in 2001 as a solo artist.) He is also a member of
the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.
From 1988 to 2005, Jackson lived on his
Neverland Ranch property, on which he built an amusement park and private zoo
for economically disadvantaged and terminally ill children.
In 1982, Jackson released his second Epic
album, Thriller, which became the best-selling album in music history with more
than 51 million copies sold worldwide. The album spawned seven hit singles,
including "Billie Jean" (which was the first music video by a black artist to
receive regular airplay on MTV), "Beat It" and the album's title track which was
accompanied by a revolutionary music video.

The 80s Forum Star of Today...Erasure
Erasure is an English synth pop duo band consisting of keyboardist Vince Clarke and singer Andy Bell.
Erasure entered the music scene in 1985 with their debut single "Who Needs Love (Like That)" (see 1985 in music). Beginning in late 1986 with the release of their single "Sometimes", Erasure established themselves on the British charts; through 1995, Erasure was the greatest pop phenomenon in Britain since ABBA. Albums such as The Circus, Wild!, Chorus, I Say I Say I Say, Erasure, Loveboat and Nightbird demonstrated a further diversity of sound.
Clarke formerly was a member of Depeche Mode and later had a successful career with the duo Yazoo (known as Yaz in the US). Later he split with Yazoo partner Alison Moyet and briefly formed The Assembly with producer Eric Radcliffe.

The 80s Forum Star of Today...Bananarama
Bananarama are an English girl group who found worldwide fame with their melodic pop and new wave songs. They have placed ten singles in the top-ten of the UK singles chart to date, as well as three U.S. top-ten hits, one of which hit number one. Some of their biggest international hits include "Cruel Summer", "Venus", and "I Heard a Rumour".
They are known for their unique vocal style which features all members singing the same notes in unison (rather than three-part harmonies). Lead vocals and background vocals were recorded in this way, and much of Bananarama's early material was recorded with all three members at the same microphone at the same time.
The group was founded in London in September 1979 by friends Siobhan Fahey, Sara Dallin, and Keren Woodward. Dallin and Woodward had been friends since the age of 4.
In 1981, Bananarama's members were living above the rehearsal room which was used by former Sex Pistols members Steve Jones and Paul Cook. With their help, Bananarama recorded their first demo "Aie a Mwana" (a cover of a song by Black Blood, sung in Swahili). The demo was heard at Demon Records, who offered the girls their first deal.
The song was an underground hit and the girls were subsequently signed by Decca (later London Records). They remained on this label until 1993. Bananarama's previous experience in a recording studio was as background vocalists on the Department S b-side "Solid Gold Easy Action", a T. Rex cover in early 1981.
